The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to drive companies to the edge. Until now, large remote data centers and cloud storage collected and analyzed huge amounts of data. Edge computing devices, instead, move the processing of information to the edge of a network and as close as possible to the source that generated the information, reducing network strain and the distance data has to travel.
