Management information systems (MIS) has grown significantly in the past few years.A national survey was conducted to clarify and to provide a better understanding of how project management applications may be used in MIS.A survey was sent to 1,610 managers randomly selected from the Directory of Top Computer Executives.The response rate was 31 percent.The survey focused on demographic data, project managers' views on how well expectations were met, qualities needed in a leader of a project team, and agreement with statements representing claimed advantages of project management.Ten questions with answers and discussion resulted from the survey.The overall conclusion was that project teams are effective in implementing the development of MIS products.
