The construction industry was recently the subject of many studies on productivity. But these studies only focused on productivity improvement efforts and productivity improvement measurement--on physical output--and ignored the less assessable productivity objectives of work safety, manpower turnover, and labor disputes. This article examines the various facets of pursuing multiple productivity objectives on construction sites, such as the interactivity and reciprocality of productivity objectives. In doing so, it explains two research projects.
