Overview

It is an exciting time to be a project manager! The evolution of development life cycles—from predictive-style scheduling to dynamic, adaptive approaches—provide us with the tools we need to be successful in any environment.

Achieving and maintaining that success requires the integration of tools and methods with processes and skills as well as a working understanding of your project development environment. Even then, a careful application of interpersonal skills along with a certain finesse will be required to propel you and your team to greater achievements.

This training will help you understand the differences among myriad approaches to project management so you can select the life cycle right for your next project in your environment. Through interactive exercises, you will gain experience in the application of methods and principles immediately applicable to solving ongoing project management challenges. Through discussions with experienced project managers, you will be able to untangle the complex web of interpersonal behaviors that may impede your progress. Most importantly, you will come away enthused and excited to take your project team to the next level!

Capstone Project: We will provide suggestions, as well as take suggestions from attendees. We will also create the project management plan and artifacts necessary to execute the project. The project will include multiple aspects of project management.
