Keynote Speakers, New Informative Sessions Announced for PMI® Global Congress 2015—EMEA

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM

Project Management Institute, the world's leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project management profession, announced the preliminary program for the upcoming PMI® Global Congress 2015—EMEA, to be held 11 - 13 May in London, United Kingdom.

Among other Congress highlights, this year’s event will feature a keynote address by James Kerr, author of the best-selling management book Legacy. Mr. Kerr will share practical insights into the sustained success of the legendary rugby team – New Zealand’s All Blacks, and will translate lessons from the rugby pitch to project and business success. Other high-profile keynote speakers will include entrepreneur and Huffington Post blogger Margaret Heffernan, plus global strategist and bestselling author Parag Khanna.

In addition to the keynote presentations, Congress attendees will have access to more than 60 collaborative education sessions, categorized across three essential skill sets. Featured courses include PMI’s comprehensive  Practical Business Analysis (BA) Experience  (bad link production) educational track. The importance of this critical competency is emphasized in PMI's 2014 Pulse of the Profession® in-depth report Requirements Management: A Core Competency for Project and Program Success, which found that when projects do not meet their original goals and business objectives, inaccurate requirements management is the primary cause of that outcome almost half of the time (47 percent).

Congress will also see the debut of the new Project Management Leaders of Tomorrow (bad link production) educational track, designed specifically for practitioners with fewer than five years project management experience and university students interested in exploring a career as a project manager. Featured sessions are designed to build leadership skills, enable career development, provide hands-on, real world learning and promote networking.

PMI Congress is a global event: This year, representatives of more than 250 organisations from around the world are registered to attend, including IBM, Accenture, Deutsche Bank, AT&T, Samsung, UBS, Siemens Healthcare, Airbus, and United Nations (UNOPS).
