Certification

Transforming Digital Capabilities

Most PMI stakeholders and customers interact with us through online channels. In response, we are building our digital capabilities to improve what we offer and how we offer it. Throughout 2017, we launched new offerings that help our customers to connect with PMI, support their career journeys, and drive business results for their employers.

Facelift Improves Certification Experience

PMI certifications are an important way that project professionals distinguish themselves. In order to provide our certification exam candidates with a better experience plus more information to succeed, we launched an enhanced exam result report.

Where previous exam reports only provided pass/fail notification and basic proficiency ratings, the new report gives:

  • A detailed and visual explanation of how well candidates did on the exam
  • An explanation of the results
  • Customized tips for navigating our online Continuing Certification Reporting System
  • Help and guidance on what to do next

For those who fail, it will help them better prepare to retake the test; for those who pass, it will help guide their professional development as they maintain their certification.

Making Certification Exams More Convenient

In order to provide greater convenience and access to Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification candidates, we have partnered with Pearson VUE to offer the exam online. Candidates can take the exam from their home or office while being monitored by an offsite proctor, or at one of Pearson VUE’s global network of center-based testing sites.

The new option opens the door to a number of exam takers, who could not easily travel to one of the previous CAPM testing sites.

Celebrating Achievements with Digital Badges

PMP badge

Earning a PMI certification is quite an accomplishment. Now, our certification holders can celebrate and share this achievement with the world through digital badges.

They can share their badges on social media, send them via email, or post them on a website. With a single click, colleagues, friends or potential employers can see important information about a certification, such as: when it was earned; what skills and qualifications it represents; and the requirements to maintain it.
