Tom Bloemers is a passionate project management and transformation professional. He is currently head of the finance transformation at KLM and worked at Philips in senior transformation roles. He is also the founder of Transformation Partnering, an online advisory firm focused on increasing the success rate of organizations in realizing their strategic goals.
As a truly global citizen, Mr. Bloemers started his career as a civil servant with the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development in Mauritius to stimulate international trade and development for small island states. He subsequently worked as a consultant with Deloitte in London and Amsterdam on large corporate assignments.
His expertise is with the end-to-end strategy implementation process, portfolio prioritization, finance value creation, organization, operating model, digital and process transformations.
Mr. Bloemers has experience in nonprofit board membership with a strong focus on finance and treasury, currently for a housing association in Amsterdam.
He is eager to serve on the PMI Board to increase project success rates, create more value for PMI as a finance professional, and raise the importance of the chief transformation officer role.
Mr. Bloemers is a regular speaker at conferences around the world, where he shares his passion for how organizations and individuals can successfully realize transformations.
Mr. Bloemers holds a master’s degree in economics (University of Maastricht), is a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification holder and completed the PMI Organization Transformation: Foundation (OTF) and Brightline® courses. He qualified as a Certified Management Accountant and is certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis from the Institute of Management Accountants. He is also a Strategy Implementation Professional from the Strategy Implementation Institute and is certified in the Business Transformation Management Methodology.
He lives with his partner in Curaçao and is active in triathlons, Crossfit and as a boot camp instructor. He enjoys reading The Economist, writing, watching documentaries and baking.
