What changes can I expect to see?
On the new exam report that you’ll receive at the test site, you will now find:
- Your pass/fail outcome
- Rating of your overall exam performance into one of four categories—above target, target, below target, needs improvement
- Rating of your domain level performance into one of four categories—above target, target, below target, needs improvement

Will the way the exam itself is scored change?
No, the manner in which the exam is scored to determine pass/fail status will not change as a result of the new exam report.
How are the new “performance rating categories” different than the former “proficiency levels”?
The old version of the exam report rated your performance based on one of three proficiency levels:
- Moderately Proficient
- Below Proficient
The new version rates your performance based on one of four proficiency levels:
- Above Target: Performance exceeds minimum requirements.
- Target: Performance meets minimum requirements.
- Below Target: Performance slightly below target and fails to meet minimum requirements. Additional preparation is recommended before re-examination.
- Needs Improvement: Performance is well-below target and fails to meet minimum requirements. Additional preparation is strongly recommended before re-examination.
What advantages does the new Exam Result Report offer?
For those who fail, it will help them prepare to retake the test. For those who pass, it will help guide their professional development.
How long will my Exam Result Report be available after I take the exam?
There is no limit to how long your Exam Result Report will be available for viewing or download from the Continuing Certification Renewal System (CCRS) on PMI.org. If you have taken multiple exams from either the same or different certifications, you will be able to view those results via a drop-down menu.
Is there an additional charge for the new Exam Result Report?
No, the new Exam Result Report is a benefit to our valued customers and is available at no additional charge.

I recently tested and received the old version of the exam report but I’m planning to retest in the future and will receive the new Exam Result Report. Is there anything I need to be aware of or do differently?
No, there is no action you need to take. If you test again after the new Exam Result Report has launched, you can expect to receive even more diagnostic information about your exam performance.
Where can I access the new version of the Exam Result Report?
All of your exam reports, regardless of when your exam was taken, will now be stored on the new Exam Analysis page on CCRS.
What devices will I be able to use to view my Exam Result Report?
You can log in to view your Exam Result Report on any device that can access the internet.
My employer paid for my PMI certification exam. Will they be able to view my Exam Result Report?
No, your Exam Result Report is private and can only be viewed while logged into a registered account on PMI.org.
Will my prior exam reports be migrated to this new format?
No, all exams taken prior to the launch of the new exam score report will be based on the former proficiency level ratings. You will, however, be able to view those older exam reports on the new Exam Analysis page.
