PMI Standard Errata Sheets
As part of our continued commitment to the project management community, below we provide the errata sheets to both A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) — Fourth Edition and The Standard for Program Management — Second Edition.
These errata sheets pertain to the first printing of both publications.
Errata sheets are commonplace in book publishing. Such documents list content revisions, and are typically a page or two in length. As the name implies, errata sheets are intended to correct errors and alleviate potential confusion. While errata sheets are not generated to correct simple typographical errors, the revisions may address errors in the book, as well as things we left out. In each case, the object is to promote accuracy, clarity, consistency and thoroughness.
The issuance of an errata sheet does not lessen the value of the original publication. Since the vast majority of a book's content is typically unaffected by errata, an errata sheet should be viewed as a supplement to a viable publication.
In order to determine the print run of your book, refer to the bottom of the copyright page, which precedes the Notice page and Table of Contents. You will see a descending numerical string of numbers beginning with 10. The first printing of both standards will show the numerals 10 through 1. With each subsequent print run, the lowest numeral is removed from the string. Therefore, if your copy has all 10 numerals, you have the first printing and you will need the errata sheet.
