Practice Standard for Scheduling—Second Edition
Practice Standards are guides to the use of a tool, technique or process identified in the PMBOK®  Guide or other PMI general Standard. PMI is in the process of developing an update to the first edition of The Practice Standard for Scheduling.

The dynamics and progress made in the standards coupled with the input received on the Standard are supportive of an opportunity to further improve this standard. This would be reflected in improved clarity, identification and closure of gaps, amplification of key elements, and expansion of scope to areas not considered in the first edition.

This update is being led by Harold M. Mosley, Committee Chair. For more information on this standard please contact Elaine.Lazar@pmi.org, PMI Standards Project Specialist.

Project Management Lexicon
The first phase of this project has been chartered to deliver a prototype that will establish principles, suggest processes, and test the validity of an approach to developing and maintaining a project management lexicon. The initial product will be based on the existing glossaries of four PMI Standards: the PMBOK® Guide – Fourth Edition, The Standard for Program Management – Second Edition, The Standard for Portfolio Management – Second Edition, and OPM3®– Second Edition. The prototype will serve as the springboard for two further phases of development, leading ultimately to an authoritative project management lexicon.

This project is being led by Carol Steuer, PMP, Committee Chair.  For more information, contact Elaine.Lazar@pmi.org, PMI Standards Project Specialist.

In this standard, estimation is being developed as it applies to project management (resource, cost and duration estimation) specifically as outlined in the PMBOK® Guide – Fourth Edition.

This update is being led by Chris Richards, Committee Chair. For more information on this standard, contact Kristin.Vitello@pmi.org, PMI Standards Project Specialist.
